With winter approaching, promotional blankets make a great gift for the holidays and beyond. So how do you know which blanket is right for your brand? What can you do to get the best possible return in brand recognition and loyalty? Try one (or all!) of these strategies to make maximum impact with your promotional blankets.
#1: Go full color.
Print technology has come a long way in recent years. Now that we can reproduce vibrant full color photos on your favorite luxury blankets, you can get really creative with your artwork. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then make a high resolution photo the central message of your blanket. Launching a new product or marketing campaign? Recreate the ad on a blanket. Planning a retreat or incentive trip in an exotic locale? Grab a scenic photo and overlay it with your logo for a one of a kind keepsake. Celebrating a winning season? Capture the glory of the moment with a team photo.
#2: Think beyond basic fleece.
There’s certainly nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned fleece blanket (it’s budget-friendly and functional), but we recommend branching out with new fabrics and styles. For example, we loved the new cable-knit throws that we spotted at our fall show. (You can opt for traditional embroidery on these, but printing on the ribbon in the corner gives it a completely different look.) Look to lambswool or faux leather for higher-end finishes, and super soft velour or sweatshirt material for a comfy, cuddle-up kind of feel.
#3: Choose a blanket that’s practical and versatile.
Outdoor and picnic blankets make excellent gifts, too. Your best bet? Something that’s easy to carry. (Make sure it has handles or rolls up into a pocket or pouch.) For outdoor use, choose a blanket that is water resistant on at least one side, too. A great example? This picnic blanket that turns into a stadium cushion. (Something like this would be great for higher education, booster clubs and sports leagues.) Just a side note: Tartan plaid prints are definitely trending this year!
#4: Upgrade your packaging.
Presentation makes a difference, and special packaging can really take things up a notch. You could start with something as simple as a ribbon tied around the blanket, but you could also choose an organza bag, too. For higher-end gifts, we recommend one of these boxes which can be kept to use for storage, decoration, etc.
