Gear up for 2018 with Travel-friendly Computer Bags

Many of us rely on cell phones, laptops and tablets to keep our businesses going when we travel. We know that your laptop is precious cargo, so good travel-friendly computer bags are a necessity to protect your investment (and your sanity) when you hit the road. Check out two of our best-selling travel-friendly computer bags available with your company logo.

#1: Embarcadero Pack from OrigAudio.

travel-friendly computer bags We love pretty much any product from OrigAudio, a company that got its start in retail, and grew exponentially after a successful appearance on Shark Tank. When they moved over to the corporate market, they set themselves apart by offering full color decoration on every product, free setups and NO minimums. That’s right, you can order just ONE item with a logo. We tend to think of them for speakers, headphones and innovative technology, so we confess to feeling a bit puzzled when they launched a line of travel-friendly computer bags in 2017. That is, until we got our hands on some samples and gave them a test run. I’ve personally used the Embarcadero Pack for a few months now, and I would recommend it to anyone who prefers to carry their computer in a backpack style bag. Check out this video for a virtual tour of the bells and whistles.

What’s to Love:

  • 16 pockets, including extra padded compartments for sunglasses, 15″ laptops and tablets, too.
  • Extra padding in the back and shoulder straps (plus an optional sternum strap that I never use, but I suppose it could come in handy.)
  • RFID-lined pocket to protect your info.
  • Really good zippers.  (Just trust us on this…there’s nothing worse than a nice bag with a cheap zipper than gives out while you’re in the airport.)
  • It now comes in both black and gray (and the new gray is super sleek and on trend.)

  What We’d Change:

  • I wish the RFID pocket was in a more interior compartment on the bag. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I keep thinking someone will steal my wallet while I’m just walking along in the airport.
  • I wish there was a little velcro strap to hold my laptop in the padded compartment so it doesn’t start to slide when I unzip it for TSA.

 What’s the Price?

These start at $75 for just one bag, plus tax/shipping. Order more to catch a price break. messenger bag

#2: Soma Messenger Bag from OrigAudio.

Yes, it’s another bag from OrigAudio. (We told you they make awesome products!) I actually picked this one up for myself when I ordered my backpack, and I use it for day meetings or times when I’m super dressed up and it just looks/feels awkward to wear a backpack.

What’s to Love:

  • Plenty of space and padded compartments to stow your 15″ laptop and tablet.
  • Clean, professional design.
  • Quick release shoulder strap.  (See the video below for a demo of this feature. It’s actually really helpful when you’re in a hurry.)
  • The RFID pocket is  OT on the outside of the bag, so it’s definitely harder for a pickpocket to walk away with my wallet.
  • It has the little velcro strap to keep my laptop more secure in the padded compartment.

What We’d Change:

  • Honestly, not much. I just wish it came in gray like the backpack.

 What’s the Price?

These start at around $59 for just one bag, plus tax/shipping. Price breaks are available when you order more. Take the video tour here.

Other Great Options:

  • If you have a larger 17″ laptop, then OrigAudio bags just won’t work for you (no matter how much we love them.) So, check out this backpack from Elleven or this one from Wenger. Different members of our sales team have used bags from  these brands for years, so we can give them a solid two thumbs up!
  • Prefer something that rolls? We’ve got you covered. This wheeled backpack is a beast, but so is this wheeled briefcase.
  • If the TSA-friendly feature doesn’t matter to you, you can go for high-end leather, like this Kenneth Cole messenger bag.
