Despite the popularity of mobile technology, studies show that 78%* of consumers still use a printed calendar at home or at work. That’s a LOT of people using good old-fashioned pen and paper, and proof that printed calendars still make great advertising. I get it. Technology is alluring. I remember the early days of the Palm Pilot, and when Blackberry became a thing, I had to have one of those too. However, years later I still lean on a printed paper planner(which actually has someone’s logo on it. Go figure.) Try as I may, I just can’t bring myself to go fully digital. Apparently, I’m not the only one. According to “Calendar Usage in the Workplace,” 50% of people have never used the calendar function on their cell phone!
Calendar Usage in 1981 vs. 2011
We compared surveys on calendar usage from both 1981 and 2011, and surprisingly, not too much has changed.
Most Popular Types of Printed Calendars
If printed calendars still work, why not leverage what’s already working as you advertise your business? Printed calendars come in all shapes and sizes to suit your needs. Wall calendars are still the most popular style, and at home, are most likely to be found in the kitchen. For a quick and easy fix, choose a calendar with stock images and just drop in your logo to a pre-existing template. For manufacturing, construction and other industrial fields, a span a year calendar makes a great year end gift, too. If you really want to make your calendar shine, use your own images for each month. (This is a great way to include coupons, promote seasonal offerings or even note important dates that are relevant to your business!) Other popular styles include day planners, followed by desk calendars.
